Does anybody know know how to transfer a sound recording on windows to mac?

So for language class.... I have to record my speaking and send to my teacher via email. I recorded my speaking on a window's sound recorder and send to my teacher as a music file. Her laptop is a MAC. It doesn't work on her computer for some reason. Anybody know a way for her to fix it?

IP-adresses keep changing?

Hello, I have 5 devices with IP's running. 3 pc's, 1 iPhone and 1 Playstation 3. They're all at automatic IP, except the PS3, I've put it as static. But when the other devices are logged in/logged out, the IP-adresses of PS3 change from example: 192.168.0.101 to 192.168.0.104 or 192.168.0.102. My PS3 is on static, it doesn't suppose to change the IP's? Is there any way to keep the IP adress the same of PS3, and also the other devices? So I can port forward or DMZ the ONE IP of PS3 without changing constantly?

Laptop problem! Please help anyone?!?

I have a Samsung N145 Plus Laptop. (Its a mini laptop.) So since small laptops don't have a slot for cd's i had to install windows 7 on my computer with a pendrive. Everything went well and my computer works fine. EXCEPT... When i finished installing windows 7, my resolution was horrible and my internet wasn't working. It did not even recognize the wireless connection. I managed to fix my resolution problem but i have tried and still cant fix my internet problem. Can anyone help?

I have installed the PC Suite and having OVI Store in mobile. When i connect the cable and select pc suite its work, but when i select the connect the internet than its just loading and after few minute it shows connection failed.

My ADSL2+ connection frequently drops out. Why?

First, I am in Australia. I have an ADSL2+ connection via the phone line. There is no extension phone. The phone is at one end of the house, the computer at the other. This is not "fixable". I am certain the connection to the filter is correct, I have checked it a few times. The modem is a BELKIN F5D5630au4 version 1000a. I am running Internet Explorer, latest version, Windows 7. Tried Firefox and Google Chrome and they are no better. This problem has persisted through 3 different computers over 6 years running different Windows versions.

Slow connection and frequently but irregularly the ADSL Sync and ADSL Data light on the modem go out. Even when they don't, I still get dropouts with the diagnosis "The DNS server is not responding".

While I have been typing this it has dropped out three times.

Is there free, virus free software that can keep a log of this? I have complained to the ISP (TELSTRA) but they do nothing.

I'd connect to the cable going past the house but I don't want the TV crap that comes with it.

Any suggestions might be useful. Thanks in advance.

Internet speed slower than usual, have i hit my download limit?

Normally when downloading on Steam i get around 600-700kbps, which isn't great (due to living in the middle of no where) but is certainly usable and can download hefty file over night. However, since probably last weekend the speeds have dropped loads, even normal webpages take time to load and the download speed jumps all over the place, but is normally around or below 100kbps, however it did very briefly go up to 500kbps the other night for a very split second, then plummeted again.

I put this down to my USB wireless adapter at first, i tried moving it about, re-starting it and all sorts, but it said the signal to the router was strong and nothing changed. So i made sure everything else that could connect to the router was off or not connected, still no difference.
I tried downloading on my old laptop, and using just Firefox it was getting even worse speeds, around 20 - 30kbps.

So now i'm thinking maybe i've hit our download limit (i'm with AOL and have had the account probably > 5 years now). Is this the sort of thing that happens with you hit the limit (this would be the first time)?

If so, when will it go back to normal, the beginning of next month or our next payment date?

Finally, if you don't think that this is the problem, what do you think it could be?

Router or Modem keeps restarting?

I have a comcast internet and a belkin router.
Sometimes the internet is just going to restart by itself all of a sudden. One night it restarted like 6 times every 10 minutes. Other computers and my ps3 get disconnected too. Any ideas how to prevent this?

My internet only works around half the month. The other half it is extremly slow doesn't load videos And struggles to load Websites Like yahoo answers. I have a bigpond modem. I can assure you that it is not the computer that is stuffing up because my gaming consoles also struggle to download stuff and i have multiple computers in our house and they all struggle to load anything. So, I'm looking at the details of my connection (accessible from the 'Network and sharing center') and I have a good connection: 4-5 bars, and 54 Mbps. And sometimes my ping is quite good, at ~15ms when connecting to the nearest server on pingtest.net

However, I share my internet with other people in the house, so I think one of my brothers is downloading a lot these days, because for the past 2 or so weeks, I've constantly been having ping problems, which come and go (my ping will just explode, sometimes to only ~120ms, but sometimes all the way to ~500ms). Given I have no way of knowing whether it is my brother who's excessively downloading or something like that, and given that even if that's the case, I have no way of stopping him, my question is the following: is there anything I can do solely on my own end that can improve my ping without causing the entire rest of the house to have a horrible connection? For example, is there any way I can reduce my speed (given I can spare a little bit) in compensation for better latency? And sometimes, when I'm having a bad ping, restarting my connection (or my entire pc) will reset me to a good ping, but eventually it'll go back up.

And there is nothing that could possibly raise my ping (like μTorrent, Hamachi, any kind of updates, etc.) open whenever I have ping problems. Nor am I downloading or uploading anything. The ping is high on its own.

i have a linksys router at home and it is giving me so many problems. but the funny thing is i got a computer technician to come over and he installed a second router. so the original one i had was a thomsons speedtouch, and the new one installed is a linksys WRT54GL.

first of all why would he install a second router?

I need to know some things about Linux?

I have so many questions about Linux. Do you have to erase the original operating system from the computer you are downloading it onto? Can you use iTunes with it? And is just downloading the kernel O.K., or do you have to download one of the many versions of Linux afterwards (like Fedora or Ubuntu.) And what level of computer knowledge would you need to have in order to use Linux? Please help me I am completely in the dark.

Pinging mail server for email address, catch all work around?

I'm trying to send an email to a friend of mine at a different university. Unfortunately, I don't know her university email address. So I tried checking the mail server (with telnet) to see if her email address might be one of the few different formats the university uses, but when I check it with a completely bogus email, it still sends a bogus result, so I'm assuming that the mail server has a catch all set in place to just forward bogus emails to some other location. Is there a way I can test how the mail server is handling the requests and compare that to the bogus email? (if bogus email and test email are handled the same, both are bogus. If handled differently, then it would imply that the test email is valid)

Why can't I connect to wireless modem?

I have 2 Asus net books, one laptop, and a desk top that is wired to the internet. My laptop connects to the wireless modem fine (whether secured or unsecured). My 2 net books will only connect when the network is unsecured, but when I make the wireless modem secured then then neither computer can connect to the internet (in network connections it says that there is a excellent connection, but no web page will come up).

Does any one know what the problem is, and would it be a terrible thing to leave the wireless modem unsecured?

I use uTorrent and my peer list is full of leechers stealing my bandwidth. Is there a way I can block these leechers while still seeding to worthy downloaders?

In Windows XP, I right clicked the network icon in the taskbar, clicked disable but now I can't get it back on?

I went to start menu, Connect to, chose Show all connections. I see Local Area Connection and Wireless Network Connection.

I right click the second one, click enable, it says "Enabling" but then says "Connection failed!".

The internet icon isn't in the taskbar either, it disappeared immediately after I clicked disable.

I have disabled firewall and then tried enabling, but still the same problem.

How do I find the password for my internet router?

Ok, I just bought a new Macbook Pro today, and I need the password for my wi-fi network at home, to connect to ther internet. The thing is, is that I connected my wi-fi to my old laptop about 2 years ago, and set up the password so it would remember it always, and I would never have to put that password in.... and I have completely forgotten that password, and lost the piece of paper that I wrote it down on. Utorrent extremely slow download?

Some hours ago I had 900 kb/s download, but now I cant get more than 50 kb/s. I got 57 seeds out of 521 (313 in a swarm) and 21 of 901 peers. I have no idea what that means. It is a 15 gb game, which makes this speed REALLY annoying. It downloaded 900 kb/s for some hours so I have downloaded almost 50% though. Please help!

Why does my Cisco Linksys E2500 get such poor throughput?

I need a router that can do 10 Mb/s of throughput to the Internet (NAT performance) at video packet sizes and none of the review information I can find helps me. I replaced my 5 Mb/s router with a brand spanking new Cisco E2500. I only got 7 Mb/s Internet (NAT) throughput (on a 10 Mb/s connection) and still could not play HD content on my computer. When I bypassed the router, I got around 9 Mb/s. Thinking it was a computer issue I bought a new TV with direct Internet access, and it can't play HD content either through the router (even wired). If I bypass the router, again, it works. Every comment and review I've seen on routers focus on their wireless bandwidth but what I don't understand is that if you can't get 5-6 Mb/s of video through the Internet connection on a 100 Mb wired Ethernet link, does wireless bandwidth really matter a lot? I'd think Internet performance would be the key. Am I missing something? Can anyone confirm or deny the poor NAT performance of this product or recommend one that works with HD video?

I have a Samsung S2 1Tb 2.5 Potable Hard Drive and was wanting to play videos from it through either my PS3 or my TV (Samsung LE32B530) both of which have USB connection but, from what I am led to believe, don't provide enough power down these connections to run my S2 Hard Drive.

It is very frustrating because the second person to sign on basically has a crappier connection. I have tried many different options such as linking the IP addresses manually to the Router and Xbox's but even then one Xbox will be "Open" and the other will be "Strick" still. So I was wondering if there is either a solution to this problem or would we both have an "OPEN" NAT Type if we both just bought Ethernet cords and directly connected to the Router? If this will work or you guys have any other solutions please let me know! Thanks in advance

Why won't my Linksys router connect me to the web?

I have a Lynksys WRT160n V2 router that I've set up a wirelss network on. My cable modem is plugged directly into it and the modem shows that it's working correctly. Though I can connect to the wireless network locally, there is no internet connection. When I plug the cable modem directly into my computer, the internet works fine, so it's clearly not service provider issue. Can anyone help? I've tried resetting the router and creating a new network to no avail.

Hi, I am a user of Minecraft. About a month ago, I've set up a server for my classmates to play in. Knowing that many of my other friends had an error like "Can't keep up!" I've decided to dedicate 1.5gb into it and only allowed 4 players to be inside at one go. However, the java will automatically change the heap size to 784mb which is very little. What is actually going on? And how can I solve the "Can't keep up!" problem. The "Can't keep up!" problem only comes after the heap size is changed, so I guess it is due to the heap size. I am guessing that the heap size is the amount of RAM I have dedicated. Please help. My friends are whining that my server is too laggy, and I hate a laggy gameplay as it ruins everything. Okay,
I used to have an ADSL2, but it failed, with a 0.4 download speed and a 0,1 upload speed, this was due to our 5.2km distance from our exchange. I play ps3 and i was on a 3 bar every game but for some reason, it acted like a red bar, lagging and shooting through people etc. So we got a new internet, we couldn't keep a wired connection because our exchange is so far, so we got a 4g connection. This 4g connection has a 7.2 download and a 0.6 upload, which is pretty good (well better than anything I have had before). We download things off the net pretty fast. So after i got this new connection, i tried playing ps3 on it, the quality of the internet is better (not acting lower than it should be), but im on a 2 or 1 bar every game on black ops and any other game, and its annoying as hell!
I found out this is due to our ping, my ping is 90, i heard it should be at least under 50 and a good ping for online gaming is around 20 - 25. How can i decrease my ping? Or if its not the ping, what is it? Does it have anything to do with where i live or am i doing something wrong???

Help! Wireless Problem?

I have been using my router for about a year and everything was great. This week I started having problems. First off it wouldn't connect to MY (Yes MY wireless I pay for it) but whenever I try other wireless it does connect to it, sometimes it does work with mine, is like it works whenever it wants to. I don't understand because I have perfect signal, all 5 bars. Then i tried updating my router and it was up-to-date, I also scanned my computer with Malwarebytes and didn't found any problems. I also tried updating all drivers and it was still the same. About 2 hours ago I restore my Router to Factory Settings, then it was a pain in the *** to get it working again, but I managed to do it...I'm still facing the same problem I CAN'T CONNECT TO MY WIRELESS. Hi I have a problem:

I have recently purchased a wireless AV sender which allows me to watch sky in another room of the house. It works fine, however everytime I switch it on, my laptop and desktop pc cannot connect wirelessly to the internet (BT Broadband), and when I switch the sender off it works fine again. I think the reason for this is this 2.4ghz frequency band.

Please let me know any suggestions you may have to overcome this as it is really inconvenient. Since my desktop is in the loft and hub in the front room, wired connections are not an option unfortunately.

I have had wireless internet for more than a year in my house. Everything was great until this past week, whenever I wanted to connect to my wireless internet with my laptop, it would day "connection unsuccessful, and sometimes it would just connect normally without problems. It can connect to other networks but it won connect to mine. I have checked everything. First I thought it was the signal so I moved the Wireless Router and the Modem to my room, event tough I already had excellent signal, then i tried unplugging everything and waiting 10 seconds and then plugging it back on. Internet is slow running windows 7 fairly new computer?

I'm using either google chrome or Firefox. I have DSL and haven't had any problems before. Recently, firefox has not been opening at all when I click on it on the desk top and try to open it up from the start menu. Pages stop loading here and there for seconds at a time, and than work great. I've had this computer for almost a year, and just within the past week, internet has becoming slower than normal. I do have some programs that I've installed, so maybe I need to uninstall them to clear up some space. Just installed recently from the internet. It is an intel pentium processor e5700 with 1TB hard drive and 6GB Memory. IT used to be fast on the internet the other week. Also, when I have google chrome opened up, and I"m trying to type something in notepad, the keyboard delays typing for a few seconds, same when I'm typing in questions on yahoo answers, from time to time, the cursor will freeze for a few seconds. I always clear cookies and cache at the end of each session, restart my computer or restart the browser, and it still runs slow.

I have a Linksys wireless router that I've used for a 2 years. My internet is quite slow, so I want to try if the internet will be faster if I connect directly to the modem. I tried plugging my modem straight in through my PC. I did this before I ever got the router and it worked fine. Now I get the "limited connectivity" message in my toolbars when I do it and cannot access any web page. When I right click on the connection in my network connections and hit repair it always tries to renew my IP, and then fails.

In order to find out if anyone was connected to my WiFi. I found a couple of names that shouldn't be on it so I went to my Routers configuration panel to block them but on their it said they aren't connected.

The problems seems to be with Hamachi which creates a new network, when I have Hamachi turned on it comes up with the list in CMD but not on the router.

Scenario:
Modem->Cable Router->PC1 (Internet ok & LAN ok)
Modem->Cable Router->[plug 1 LAN cable & 1 WAN cable] to Wifi Router->PC2 (Internet ok & LAN ok)

Problem:

How do I bond my dsl connection with another dsl connection inexpensively?

Just curious if you have any solutions that work. I don't need a company's website, I know of plenty that offer hardware etc. I'm looking more or less for some guidelines and general hardware prices. I will use two dsl lines.

I've considered trying to run two dsl lines through a server to accomplish this, but am I wrong for thinking this?

Solid or Stranded cat6 cable?

I have a closet that my router, switch, patch panel will be in. I was looking at Monoprice.com for the cable and saw solid and stranded choices. I've been doing some research and found that the stranded is more flexible, so they label this cable type, in-wall rated. The solid is riser-rated.
For houses, is stranded usually installed in houses for going in the walls and attics? Would it be ok if I ran the solid instead? it is cheaper and would prefer to get it, if it is ok to do so.

I would calculate the subnet mask of this network using the following method?

11111111.11111111.11111111.11100000 (128+64+32 = 224)

So, the allocated network IP's subnet mask is:

255.255.255.224 ?

Is this pretty much how the process works?

The ISP says you can have xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/xx "Network"?

and then you calculate your subnet mask from that?

Once you have your subnet mask, then what?

Finding Network/DHCP Client Name?

Long story short: I find myself in need to bring my laptop to school in order to work on a project. That means I must complete a form with the school. I've pulled up the form online, but I have a question about one thing. It asks for a network/DHCP client name and I'm not sure what to put. It also asks for a MAC address and I ran CMD and wrote ipconfig /all and found the MAC address under physical address. Thus I can't put the MAC address as the answer for the network/DHCP client question. I still have the CMD program up and it has information about DHCP written three times with a string of numbers next to each: one says DHCP Server, the other DHCPv6 IAID, and the last is DHCPv6 Client DUID, which of those do I look at to pull information from to write on my form, if any? How do I find the Network/DHCP client name if it is not either of those three? Thanks. Also I can't go to the librarian for the Information because I have a class that requires me to go off site every morning, so when I do get to school I'll only have enough time to turn in form, not boot up my computer and wait for the librarian to look at it and find it herself.

My iPhone can't connect to iTunes until I enter the passcode, but I can't enter the passcode?

I have recently acquired an iPhone from one of my dad's work colleagues, and I entered the passcode 0000, assuming (wrongly) that that was the correct passcode. It came up with a message on my iPhone, saying 'iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes' as you would expect, but when I connect to my iTunes (which I've never synced this iPhone to), it comes up with a message saying 'iTunes could not connect with "Gary's iPhone" because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.' This means that I can't enter the passcode (which I can find out if necessary) until I connect with iTunes, but I can't connect with iTunes either. Any help would be appreciated :-)

FIrst of all, make sure that you are on Android Froyo 2.2 or higher versions as this feature is for only those mobiles. All you have to do is activate Internet pack and then enter the settings and search for the android tether or hostspot somewhere and activate it.. Now, if asked use any WPA or WEP protection along with a suitable key or go unprotected. Now, on ur PC, search for Wifi, win7 automatically does this once the wifi adaptor is on.. Connect through it and choose WEP, WPA or no protection. There u go,. I tried it on my ACE and dude I got around 40-45 kbps

Client-server was big a few years ago, with custom software at both ends.
Now, everything's on the Web (or at least an intranet). Many webservers run Linux, many clients run Windows with Firefox/Chrome/IE browsers. Interaction is generally handled within HTTP by HTML or JSON objects and HTTP cookies

it means that a service like internet access or file access is happening over a network. the service is provided by a linux system so we call it a SERVER. machines on the network that use this service are called CLIENTS. if this server can speak the 'network language' of windows, then it can be set up to interact with windows clients. it is quite common in offices to find a linux system serving many windows clients.
